Camp Dream — a joyful overnight summer camp in Hampton, Georgia

Camp Dream is an overnight summer camp for children and young adults with moderate to severe physical and developmental disabilities. Camp sessions are held in a barrier-free camp setting at the Calvin Center in Hampton, Georgia, and every part of the experience is built around joy, inclusion, life skills, and social connection.

What Camp Dream is

Camp Dream is run by the Camp Dream Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 58-1444915) that has been serving campers since 1996. Programs are 100% volunteer-run, and each camper is paired with a dedicated counselor for one-to-one support throughout the session. A dedicated medical staff is available in every session, so campers can enjoy a traditional overnight camp experience with the care they need already in place.

Camp Dream accepts individuals with disabilities or special needs and has not refused anyone based on medical condition or financial capability. Families are asked to pay what they can, and fundraising and donor support help cover the rest — so more campers can attend.

Summer Camp

The Summer Camp program offers 4-day overnight sessions packed with the activities campers look forward to all year: swimming, fishing, boating, crafts, dances, and more. Counselors coach, assist, and support one assigned camper throughout camp, helping each camper try new things, build friendships, and thrive at their own pace.

A dedicated medical team supports every session, handling medications, routine care, and emergency support. The program cost is $800 per session, and families are asked to pay what they can — scholarships and community support are available, and no camper is turned away for financial reasons. Registration for the 2026 season is open; visit our contact page to start a camper application or ask a question.

Volunteer counselors

Camp Dream volunteers are the backbone of every session. Counselors are adults age 18 and older who commit to a single session and provide personal care support, activity assistance, and friendship to one assigned camper from arrival to farewell. Background checks are conducted for all counselors and staff. It is a short commitment that campers remember for years — and, as our counselors often tell us, one they remember just as long. Counselor registration for 2026 is open; reach out through the contact page to apply.

Donate & sponsor

Donations provide recreational and social opportunities that many campers would otherwise miss. Gifts fund scholarships so no camper is turned away for financial reasons, and support Summer Camp and Camp Out activities for Georgia families year-round. Individuals, families, groups, churches, and organizations can contribute through one-time gifts, recurring donations, or in-kind support. Donations to the Camp Dream Foundation are tax-deductible.
